There are a large number of new "issues" with the PCMCIA support in the 2.3.* kernel tree. I have been backporting my updates from the 3.1.* PCMCIA drivers to the 2.3.* kernel tree; however, many of the new problems in the 2.3.* tree directly stem from changes made by other people, that I did not agree with. Sorting out these problems will take time. PCMCIA release numbers do not follow the odd=development, even=stable convention used for kernel releases. -- Dave
