I'm not sure what to suggest. You might want to forward this to Gadi Oxman, at gadio@netvision.net.il: he is the maintainer of the kernel ide-floppy driver. Also, I've been told that the IOMega Clik! drive requires a patched ide-floppy driver, and it's possible that your device has similar requirements.
