Question: PCMCIA ATAPI CDROM burners?

I've got a EXT brand ATAPI cdrom burner that is recognized just fine as a cd drive, but I can't figure out how to use it as a burner. I know that I need to use the ATAPI scsi emulation, but I'm not sure how or if that can be done with the pcmcia software. Has this been done before?
