Yeah, I had tried changing IO ports as well, without any difference in the behaviour of the device.
The ironic thing is that Archos, the manufacturer, claims Linux support for this device on their web page. But the best that the technical support representative could offer is to make sure that I'm running Linux 2.x. What a big help that was... I'm trying to get some information from their engineering department, but I'm not optimistic. Thanks for the suggestion. Matt
