SMC Ethernet/Modem Multifunction card

Hi ... I'm running RH6.2 (2.2.14) and have a multi card which identifies itself as SMC ETHEREZ ETHERNET/MODEM 8020 V1.00 I have not been able to get it working as an ethernet card, it insists on loading serial_cs and act as an modem. It says "function 2 (serial)" Is there a way to specify another function? tia gd
