Question: 3COM-3CXFEM656C ethernet problems!

Hello, I just got this new 3com card and had to install the new pcmcia drivers on my redhat6.1 The modem is a winmodem so it doesn't work but I got the ethernet side to work. I got a problem though. The network works, but not very good. I have a normal PC with redhat6.1 connected to my laptop with a rj45 crossed cable. When I ping the machines. Everything seams ok, but when I ftp a file, or ping with a size of 10500 or bigger, the network slows down and stops. The card work fine on windows, with the same pc, same linux, same cable on the other end? Any Ideas, I tried to read the docs, but nothing about this card is out yet. Thanks. Tom.
