PROBLEM: My network PCCard appears to work fine, but /var/log/messages contains hundreds of lines containing the following error message: Nov 1 15:46:06 localhost kernel: eth0: interrupt(s) dropped! Any ideas what is wrong? I recently updated my laptop from RedHat 5.1 to 6.1. To complete the upgrade I needed to add an ifcfg-eth0 file with the following contents: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0: DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=dhcp ONBOOT=no I also added links to /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia in /etc/rc.d/rc[345].d Otherwise, the pcmcia configuration files are the ones installed by RedHat.
