Your card uses the smc91c92_cs driver, not pcnet_cs. > product info: "PCMCIA", "10/100 Ethernet Card", "", "" Nice of them to pick a completely generic set of identification strings, which unfortunately also match cards that use the pcnet_cs driver. Edit /etc/pcmcia/config and find the entry that matches these strings, and replace it with: card "WiseCom WC-PC400" manfid 0x8a01, 0xc1ab bind "smc91c92_cs" -- Dave

Fist of all, thanks to David for his suggestion. In fact, that's what I tried before getting a newer drivers version. Anyway I have tried ance again, I that's what I get: cardmgr[57]: initializing socket 1 cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: clean. cardmgr[57]: socket 1: WiseCom WC-PC400 Fast Ethernet cardmgr[57]:executing: 'insmod/lib/modules/2.2.13/pcmcia/smc91c92_cs.o' smc91c92_cs: using 8-bit IO window. eth0: smc91c??? rev 13: io 0x100, irq 9, hw_addr FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF cardmgr[57]: executing: './network start eth0' cardmgr[57]: + cat: /var/state/pcmcia/scheme: No such file or directory smc91c92_cs: Yikes! Bad chip signature! Configuring eth0 as 147.83.143.192... smc91c92_cs: Yikes! Bad chip signature! cardmgr[57]: + SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device It's worse. What else ca I try?
