As an addition to the last posting, I tried to increase the reset delay time for the controller (there is even a kernel configuration option CONFIG_AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY for this), with no result at all. If you grep through the whole kernel source tree, you will see the reason: it is _defined_, it is _printed_ in the /proc entry, but never used elsewhere. Strange... Does anyone know who maintains the aic7xxx driver? Albrecht.
