The "global modem for windows" is a hint. Also this card is listed in the supported.cards list as a WinModem. You can't use it with Linux. WinModems implement most of the modem functionality in software that runs on your CPU, instead of using a standard serial port interface and hardware on the modem card. You need dedicated drivers that know how to talk to your particular WinModem. There are no WinModem drivers for Linux. (well, that's not strictly true, Lucent has a Linux WinModem driver for one of their PCI WinModem chipsets, but it does you no good) -- Dave |
