Question: 3com pcmcia + Tecra 8000 + col 2.3 = no network ability

I have tried many modifications to /etc/pcmcia/config.opts but no luck getting my eth0 interface up. I can't configure the eth0 interface, cuz it is not recognized. I have tried to root out any irq conflicts but I'm copying a known good config file, and no luck. The init script hangs when loading modules, so I think It might be a problem there. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out on this one.
