I recently got a Cabletron RoamAbout DS card, which worked fine using the wvlan_cs driver from pcmcia-cs 3.1.14. As shipped, the card uses firmware version 4.0.
However, when I updated the card to firmware version 6.0 (file "RoamAbout-AP-60000-fw.zip" on Cabletron's web site), the GPL driver stopped working. The non-free driver, called "roamabout_cs", still works fine (I think that is a repackaged version of "wavelan2_cs"). The GPL driver fails with the following error messages:
