Dear all,
When I try to change the freq of my WaveLAN IEEE card using iwconfig, the linux laptop is frozen, and nothing is logged in the /var/log/messages file. This is the details of my machine: - toshiba portege 300CT - redhat 6.2 - linux 2.2.14 - pcmcia-cs 3.1.13 - wireless_tools 20 Now if I use a old WaveLAN card (wavelan_cs driver) instead of the WaveLAN IEEE card (wvlan_cs driver), iwconfig can change its freq without any troubles... Problem in the wvlan_cs driver?? Not quite. If I go into the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts and change the freq option there, I can obtain whatever freq I want after a reboot... Problem in the wireless_tools?? Not quite... I have a basestation running "exactly" the same software (redhat, linux, pcmcia_cs and wireless_tools) except the WaveLAN IEEE card being slotted into a pcmcia-isa adaptor, and the iwconfig program works fine for everthing!! It would be appreciate so much if someone can tell me how to approach this strange problem... Thanks for your time... Cheers, Jonathan
