Idea found working PCMCIA parameters, now facing driver installation

In config.opts (Suse Linux 6.4) this did the trick. Mind you that I had to run the card in WIN98 first to find out the parameters.

include port 0x180-0x1bf include memory 0xc0000-0xfffff include memory 0xfccc-0xfccf exclude irq4 exclude irq3 exclude irq12

The card identifies as (cardctl ident): Socket 0: product info: "Compaq", "WL200_11Mbps_Wireless_PCI_Card", "", "" manfid: 0x0138, 0x0002 function: 6 (network)

Last time I tried to install the driver package from the install stopped because my kernel source directory apparently had a wrong date. Does anyone have an idea how I could avoid this next time?
