None Maybe your setup can't handle unusual interface names

I don't have any specific experience with this, but it is possible
that either the (old) 2.0.* kernel, or your net tools, can't handle
the unusual "wvlan0" network interface name. You might have better
luck after upgrading one or both of those.

Also, the wavelan2_cs driver is not "old"; it is just "different". It
is written and maintained by Lucent, and has more features than the
wvlan_cs driver. It is not included in the PCMCIA distribution
because it is not completely open source. If that driver works fine
for you, I'd suggest just using it.
