Question Problems with Breezecom Wireless Lan - long ping times

Forum: PCMCIA Wireless Network Adapter Issues
Date: 2000, Jun 30
From: interdart

I am trying to setup Redhat 6.2 with a Breezecom card.

The card loads ok, and the network estblishes a connection, however the ping times are in to 200 to 1000 ms range. This is not a radio signal strength problem, the same card in a 486 W95 gices ping 0-90ms

I am using a desktop machine with an Elan P111 PCI card adapter (TI chipset?).

Other pcmcia ethernet cards work at an acceptable speed though the Kingston (ne) gives ping of 20ms.

Can anyone suggest where to start looking for a for a solution toothis probvlem?
