The cb_pci_irq parameter goes in CORE_OPTS.

I think I need to see the startup messages from the PCMCIA modules
with no special PCIC_OPTS or CORE_OPTS settings. I would also want to
see the output of the "dump_pirq" script from the debug-tools
directory.

Are you just guessing that this card's PCI interrupt is hooked up to
irq 11?

hi,

here is some more output and information. i also wanted to
say thanks for having such good and extensive documentation.

fyi, by ``long ping times'' in my previous message, i meant
~4000 milliseconds or failure when pinging another wavelan.

i also had tx timeouts with a pcmcia ethernet card using the gpl driver.

here are messages from `pcmcia start' and no pcmcia card
inserted. there are no options set in config.opts for
CORE_OPTS or PCIC_OPTS, and i am using the lucent driver:

None Strange interrupt routing information

Re: More more info. (Douglas S. J. De Couto)
Date: 2000, Jul 13
From: David Hinds <dhinds@pcmcia.sourceforge.org>

Your interrupt routing table looks pretty strange to me. I'd try:

   CORE_OPTS="cb_pci_irq=11"
   PCIC_OPTS="irq_mode=0"

and see how that works. Maybe try different values in place of 11.
The thing I don't understand is why your dump_pirq output shows all
PCI interrupt pins as "unrouted":

> Interrupt router at 00:12.0: Intel 82371AB PIIX4/PIIX4E PCI-to-ISA bridge
> PIRQ1 (link 0x60): unrouted
> PIRQ2 (link 0x61): unrouted
> PIRQ3 (link 0x62): unrouted
> PIRQ4 (link 0x63): unrouted
> Serial IRQ: [disabled] [quiet] [frame=21] [pulse=4]

This makes me think my suggestion is unlikely to work, because PCI
interrupts are not being routed in a way that I understand.

But this is an SMP box so maybe this is an IO APIC issue, and the
interrupt routing table doesn't apply. In that case this is over my
head: maybe contact Martin Mares <mj@ucw.cz> and ask him how to figure
out or fix the interrupt assignment for a PCI device on an SMP box
when the BIOS doesn't fill in the PCI interrupt line register. He may
tell you that this combination won't work with a 2.2 kernel.

hi, tried your suggestion for new options in config.opts, but
no good. i have tried PCIC_OPTS="irq_mode=0" and
CORE_OPTS="cb_pci_irq=n" for n in 3,..,15, but it only ever
tries 11, unsuccessfully. here are the log messages. i will
follow up on your suggestion and contact Martin. Thanks.
