I am having some trouble getting my WebGear Aviator 2.4 PCMCIA card working under linux. It is running perfectly on my two laptops running Windows 98SE, but I cannot get it to work on my firewall (ie desktop machine with the supplied ISA card).
I am runnning RedHat 6.1, with kernel 2.2.16 and pcmcia-cs-3.1.18
I have had this working in the past, but that was with less other network cards and with pcmcia-cs-3.1.15. The server now has 3 wired network cards in it, all working (smc-ultra, 3c509 and ne).
but when I do a /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start /sbin/ifconfig seems to be ok eth3 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FF:00:FF:48:FF:B3 inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:13 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 Interrupt:5
but cat /proc/ray_cs says Card doing acquisition and never Acquisition complete like it did in the past, and neither of my Win 98 laptops can access the server. I modified the configuration files for pcmcia in the following way
config.opts module "ray_cs" opts "essid=XXXXXX translate=0 pc_debug=3"
