I don't have a full blown linux machine to work from. I want to create a single floppy LRP (inux router) with a Wavelan nic and a 3c509 nic. I've been able to find and modify idiot images that have one or the other working but not both. My attempt to modify the dummy image from Mark Lachniet (ftp://lachniet.com) to use a 3c509 was unsuccessful. (yes I found a 3c509.o compiled for the right kernel - 2.2.11 and put it in the right place) The wavelan side worked great though, I could ping the world (it was talking to an access point connected to the internet). Mark's README indicates that that image won't work with anything but his specific hardware (I found this out the hard way after many days of trying).
I then found an eth-eth LRP which allowed me to set the 3c509 up and it works great, just no wavelan. I'd like to add the wavelan support to this working image, it uses the 2.2.13 kernel. I believe all I need to add is this:
/lib/modules/2.2.13/pcmcia_core.o /lib/modules/2.2.13/i82365.o /lib/modules/2.2.13/ds.o /lib/modules/2.2.13/wavelan2_cs.o /etc/init.d/pcmcia /sbin/cardmgr /etc/pcmcia/network /etc/pcmcia/network.opts /etc/pcmcia/shared /etc/pcmcia/config /etc/pcmcia/config.opts
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Problem is, without a full linux system to work from I can't build the appropriate pcmcia and wavelan drivers. Anybody care to be a good samaritan and compile these drivers with the 2.2.13 kernel for me. I would be eternally greatful.
If I get this working, I'll gladly put the resulting "idiot" image on my ftp server for all to benefit from.
