Hi
I'm trying to get a Compaq WLAN100 PCMCIA kort working under Linux and I have nearly made it :-) The card is detected correctly and i hear 2 of the high beeps at insertion. But when I do ifconfig only loopback device is shown and when I look in /var/log/messages I see:
Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: executing: './wlan-ng start wlan0' Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + message=dot11req_mibset Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + mibattribute=dot11DesiredSSID=WLAN_PRISM2 Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + resultcode=success Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + message=dot11req_associate Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + peerstaaddress=no_value Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + associatefailuretimeout=no_value Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + cfpollable=no_value Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + cfpollreq=no_value Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + privacy=no_value Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + listeninterval=0 Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + resultcode=success Aug 16 14:33:39 polesen cardmgr[4209]: + usage: ifup <device name> It seems like the name "wlan0" is not known :-( I'm running: Kernel: 2.2.14-0.5 PCMCIA: pcmcia-cs-3.1.8 wlan: linux-wlan-ng-0.1.7 I have tried adding an alias line for "wlan0" in /etc/conf.modules but with no success. What to do?
