CE3 and 100mbs only (the old story...)

Hi (not very much traffic here...)!
I've got the old problem with a CE3: it works only at 100mbs. The patch from the old message board (seems to write the same thing as a "two liner") doesn't work for me.
So, i think i know what a compiler is and have a non-working card at hand - perhaps i can try something out as the packages seems to be unmaintained at the moment.
Does anybody have some documentation about the tranceiver of this card? Patches?
