Hi all,
I'm running on my Dell Inspiron 3700 Linux RedHat 6.1 (2.2.12-20) and I have a Xircom RealPort 10/100 RBEM56G-100.
I was running with this configuration for the last 6 months connected (with a static IP address) to a 10 Mb LAN without any problem .... but the last week the network
amministrators changed the configuration of "some switch"
and after that I have an error at the startup
(Bringing up the eth0 interface .... failed)
and now my card doesn't work.
If now for example I try to activate the eth0 interface from the contro-panel I have:
....
ipcalc: ip address expected
ipcalc: ip address expected
ipcalc: ip address expected
ipcalc: ip address expected
broadcast: Host name lookup failure
Usage: grep [OPTION] ... PATTERN [FILE] ...
Try 'grep --help' for more information.
netmask: Host name lookup failure
SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
expr: syntax error

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I am fairly new to Linux but I really have no idea
what I can do ?

I hope somebody can help me.

      thanks, Marco
p.s.
With Win the card works fine :-(( GRRRRRRR
