Xircom PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter Issues
Re:
Question:
No network using Xircom RBEM56G-100 (Stuart Pedler)

Hi, I had similar problems with this card. I edited
the script /etc/pcmcia/network to contain the line
ifconfig $DEVICE down up
after the line
/sbin/ifconfig $DEVICE up $IPADDR $NM $BC $MTU
in the "$IPADDR" section and also in the function
bootp_setup to get dhcp working. The trick is somehow
to restart the card/driver. To be honest, I don't know
why this works. If somebody does know, please tell me,
this is bothering me now since 1/2 year.
cheers, Stefan
