Hi, damn, I thought I could do some magic here. The symtoms I had matched your description, i.e. ifconfig looked ok. One thing I noticed was that "route" wasn't set up correctly, it did not have a default route. Check the output of "route" to see what happens in your case. If there is a problem you can try to add a default route by hand. My setup is like this; I have a DELL I3700 and a RBEM56G 10/100 card. I run Debian potato (its just out, see www.debian.org) with kernel 2.2.17 and pcmcia-cs 3.1.19. My trick already worked with 2.2.13 and pcmcia-cs 3.1.8. If you are still stuck and you are willing to play a bit more you could have a look at http://www.scyld.com/network/updates.html and http://www.scyld.com/network There seems to be a way to drive a tulip based CardBus pcmcia card with the normal tulip driver in the kernel. I did not try this since my card works :) but perhaps it helps you. BTW, to the general public on this list, has anybody ever tried this? Should this approach be a part of the pcmcia-cs package? cheers, Stefan |
