Re: Sad RB100 - ping itself ok, ping outside no response, arp no h/w address (Alan Tam)

hi,

After enable the card with promiscous mode, I got it successfully in pinging outside world and "arp -a" shows correct MAC address of other computer on the LAN

I read from the "known problems" that tulip_cb.c is unstable with Xircom Cardbus Realport because there are so many chip version of Digital Tulip chip.

???Any hints on modifying the tulip_cb.c such that I don't need to enable promiscous for my card (it's too cpu intensive because i am in a very busy hub segment of my office)??? Alternatively, if you have experience, which OLD pcmcia-cs package works to me?

Thanks Alan

P.S. "known problems" URL is http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/BUGS
