Thanks David, for all your work and your quick response.

p. 12 of the PCMCIA HOWTO does show how to get the CBEM56G
to work on system startup. I replaced the pcmcia-3.1.19 default /etc/pcmcia/network.opts with the Redhat-specific
version on this page, and now the card works
on powerup without requiring any additional tweaks.

The suspend/resume behavior is still not optimal.
I must eject the card before resuming in for it to
resume properly. If I do not physically eject the
card before resuming, then I get the error:

cs: socket 0 timed out during reset

Trying to do a software resume at this point with
'cardctl resume' yields the error

ioctl(): Device or resource busy

I get the same error when I use 'cardctl eject' before
physically ejecting the card. Fortunately,
I have found that physically ejecting then reinserting
the card in such situations does work without first issuing
the command 'cardctl eject'. However, I am not sure this
is safe!

Any ideas on fixes to this suspend/resume behavior?
