Question: RBEM56G-100BTX Ethernet working; modem not recognized

All, running pcmcia 3.1.9 and 2.2.12 with RedHat6.1 and the RBEM56G-100BTX, and after installing 3.1.9 the ethernet worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the modem doesn't work at all. Not only doesn't it work, but Kudzu comes up and says that the "Generic Serial Modem," and Ethernet Adapter have been removed from the system when I don't have the card connected to the LAN. Any ideas for what I might be doing wrong? Anyone got a lead but I haven't supplied the right information, by all means let me know!
