I'm having a problem with an IBM ThinkPad 600x and a Xircom RE-100. I read the PCMCIA FAQ, but am still a bit unclear where to start troubleshooting. When I look at /var/log/messages, cardmgr give the following info: cardmgr[10314]: starting, version is 3.0.14 cardmgr[10314]: watching 2 sockets cardmgr[10314]: could not adjust resource: IO ports 0x1000-0x17ff: Device or resource busy cardmgr[10314]: could not adjust resource: IO ports 0x100-0x4ff: Device or resource busy cardmgr[10314]: could not adjust resource: memory 0xc0000-0xfffff: Device or resource busy cardmgr[10314]: could not adjust resource: memory 0x60000000-0x60ffffff: Device or resource busy cardmgr[10314]: could not adjust resource: IO ports 0xa00-0xaff: Device or resource busy cardmgr[10314]: initializing socket 1 cardmgr[10314]: socket 1: Xircom CE3-10/100 Fast Ethernet cardmgr[10314]: executing: 'insmod /lib/modules/2.2.10/pcmcia/xirc2ps_cs.o' cardmgr[10314]: + /lib/modules/2.2.10/pcmcia/xirc2ps_cs.o: a module named xirc2ps_cs already exists cardmgr[10314]: insmod exited with status 1 cardmgr[10314]: executing: 'modprobe xirc2ps_cs' cardmgr[10314]: + can't locate module xirc2ps_cs cardmgr[10314]: modprobe exited with status 1 cardmgr[10314]: 'xirc2ps_cs' already bound to socket 1 cardmgr[10314]: executing: './network start eth0' cardmgr[10314]: exiting I'm not sure where to begin! I saw a XIRCOM-HOWTO for the Thinkpad 600x, but when I went to download it that night, the site changed format and I can't find the archive! Any pointing in the the right direction (I can RTFM if I know what I'm looking for) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Ron Ostiguy |
