Upgrading to PCMCIA card manager & drivers solve the problem.

Just a minor quirks; in my case (RH 6.2) the delayed initialization
  due to the relative position of the pcmcia & network init
  file in rcX.d don't complete the route initialization.

Doing a network restart after every boot or renaming all occurrencies of 
S10network
  in S46network and reboot once obviously solve the problem.
