Yes...your symptoms sound exactly the same as mine. I have an OmniBook PIII 650MHz, 256MB RAM, 18.1GB HDD...seems that the version of OmniBook doesn't make a difference. I have successfully used this card under both Windows '98 and Windows 2000...no problems with either of those. I have also installed the latest PCMCIA drivers (May 12 release) and this didn't fix it either...so I can't see any point in either of you trying this...but by all means do if you think it will help. I compiled the PCMCIA driver with both PnP support and no PnP support and this didn't change anything either. /var/log/messages shows that the card was detected fine (1st beep) but it fails to configure it properly (no 2nd beep). If anyone has any other ideas with this, I would certainly appreciate the input.... Like before, I am running a stock RedHat 6.2 kernel with the latest PCMCIA package installed (May 12 release from sourceforge FTP).... Thanks Mark |
