Question Xircom CBE-10/100BTX woes

Forum: Xircom PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter Issues

From: Andrew Branch AndyB

Hi,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction with this.

Distribution: SuSE 6.4 Kernel: Stock SuSE 6.4 - 2.2.14 PCMCIA version: 3.1.15 Card: Xircom CBE-10/100BTX

I now have a recognised card after adding
card "Xircom CardBus 10/100 Ethernet"
  manfid 0x0105, 0x0102
  bind "tulip_cb"

to the /etc/pcmcia/config file

I can ping my address on the laptop, however when I can't ping any other address it just sits there doing nothing.

I had a look in /var/log/messages and I was getting the following lines repeated continuously:

May 14 09:01:41 legolas kernel: eth0: Tx hung, 25 vs. 1.
May 14 09:01:41 legolas kernel: eth0: 21140 transmit timed out, status f0260000, SIA 000000c6 ffff0000 fffbffff 8ff00008, resetting...

When I removed the card and re-inserted it I got the following (I don't know if it is relevant):

If anyone needs any extra information please ask. I have never been able to get this card going under Linux (I have tried previously)

Thanks, Andrew Branch.
