Is there any way to add the "promisc" option the the standard redhat/mandrake network init.d script so my Xircom get's an address via dhcpcd automagically? I have the infamous RBEM56G-100TX carbus xircom card
I seem to have to let the dhcpcd process fail on system start-up, then use the method that Stewart mentions below to initiate the network script again, open up another terminal and initiate a /sbin/ifconfig eth0 promisc so the Xircom grabs the address properly from the server.
Is there an easier way?
Thanks,
sji
