Sad: Xircom RBEM56G 100 doesn't work in Linux Mandrake

hi! care to help a newbie. I have a Dell Latitude with xircom card, and after downloading the latest pcmcia path (3.1.15) linux can atleast detect the card ( 2 reassuring beeps ). BUt it can not detect the ethernet card . tried ifconfig eth0 promisc & other stuff please help me thanx with regards aish
