All that's wrong seems to be the order your init scripts are starting up. For me in Mandrake, when /etc/rc.d/init.d/network runs, if eth0 doesn't come up immediately it sleeps for a 10 seconds perhaps, by that time pcmcia starts up and all is good. What distribution are you using? - Ed
